I first started attending yoga classes in 1998 after the birth of my youngest child. At the time I also enjoyed going to the gym so really gained benefit from the postures or ‘asanas’ which stretched my body beautifully. I discovered that during a yoga class I was able to switch off for a short time from any worries or stresses I had, although initially I found relaxation particularly challenging as I was used to leading a very busy life and found it difficult to remain still and silent.
As my yoga practice developed I found that my body and mind enjoyed these moments of stillness and silence so decided to develop my own personal practice by enrolling on a Foundation Course with the British Wheel of Yoga.
Through my growing knowledge of yoga I became so passionate about the positive changes it had brought to my life that I decided to train as a yoga teacher so that I could share this rewarding experience with others.
I spent the next 3 years studying with the British Wheel to gain my teaching diploma.
Since I started my journey on the path of yoga I have become a more balanced, calmer person. It has brought me contentment, inner peace as well as increased strength and flexibility.
I have since qualified as a Thai Yoga Massage Therapist and also have a diploma in Indian Head Massage.
